About Bali
An island and a province of Indonesia rather than a city, so where you base yourself matters: Seminyak and Canggu on the southwest coast, Ubud inland among rice terraces and temples, Sanur and Nusa Dua for calmer beaches, Uluwatu on the southern cliffs. There is no train, and roads are slow, so drivers and scooters do the work. Dry season runs about April to October, wet season November to March.
