About Hudson Valley

Rather than one town, this is a region running north from New York City along the Hudson River, with Beacon, Cold Spring, Poughkeepsie, Rhinebeck, Kingston and Hudson as the usual bases. Trains run up the east bank from Manhattan, but the trails, farms and estates sit far apart, so plan on a car. Autumn foliage is the busy season and lodging books out early; winter is quietest.
