About Prayagraj (Sangam)
Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh stands at the Sangam, where the Ganges and Yamuna meet. Boats run out to the confluence and the riverbank draws pilgrims through the year. The Magh Mela each winter, and the far larger Kumbh and Ardh Kumbh gatherings, turn the sands into a temporary city when rooms are scarce and booked far ahead.
