The walled old city holds Hawa Mahal, the City Palace and Jantar Mantar within walking distance, while Amber Fort and Nahargarh need transport. A composite monument ticket exists, and shopping tends to become part of the budget here. October to March is pleasant; April to June is very hot and quieter.
