Waterfalls on the river between New York State and Ontario, with a town on each side of the border. Looking at them from the public parks costs nothing, but the boat trips, tunnels and observation towers are each ticketed. Buffalo is the nearest airport on the American side, Toronto on the Canadian. Summer is crowded, winter cold and quiet, and crossing the bridge needs a passport.
