About Reykjavik
Iceland's capital works as a base rather than the whole destination: the centre is small and walkable, but most of what people travel for sits outside it, along the south coast and the ring road. Iceland is car dependent, so a rental or booked tours drive the trip after accommodation. Summer brings long daylight and the busiest roads; winter is dark, with northern lights and some routes closed.
