About Andaman & Nicobar Islands
A union territory in the Bay of Bengal, nearer Southeast Asia than the Indian mainland. Almost everyone flies into Port Blair, then continues by ferry to Havelock or Neil for beaches and diving, and those sea legs plus the flight usually dominate the trip. The Nicobar group is closed to tourists. Crossings are roughest during the southwest monsoon, roughly May to September.
